It never rains in Sonoma in June! Never say never.. Fortunately we had a weather plan and were among the lucky few that secured ourselves a tent (and some golf umbrellas) for this wedding/ surprise rain storm on June 4, 2011. It turned out to be even more perfect than our couple could have imagined. The skies cleared for cocktail hour and then opened up with rain showers while guests were snug in the tent for dinner and dancing. Very special night. Very special couple. Photo by Gertrude & Mabel

![]() There are thousands of photos in the archives that we've yet to share. Countless special moments, adorable couples and amazing details... So we've dedicated Thursdays to be the day we dig out some of those photos and remember those things. This one...circa 2003. Photos of this Santa Barbara hilltop wedding were captured by the amazing Elizabeth Messina in film. And these were the days when you were delivered a stack of the most gorgeous photographs, rather than a disc of a thousand photos so please forgive the size and resolution of this image... it was scanned a number of years ago. We were only a few years into business but this amazing wedding was one for the books.... and this gorgeous detail by Xandra Zamora from XYZ Ink is timeless. She watercolored table numbers in a soft celery green with hand-lettered guest names over in chocolate brown. Guests found their cards on a table of wheat grass which perfectly blended in with the surrounding garden. So beautiful and perfect for a garden wedding in Santa Barbara! At this time of year we learn a lot about upcoming color trends from fashions introduced at New York Fashion week and the subsequent Pantone Color Report that has just been released. Though I always encourage our couples to be inspired by the location and their surroundings, color palettes for our weddings of course take current color trends into account. In 2015, it looks like colors are moving toward soft and simple with cooler tones, pale pastels and nature inspired neutrals. This year's colors give us the best of both worlds drawing from nature and landscape. Check out the 2015 Pantone Colors.
