There is no question that our beloved Sonoma and Napa Valley wine country took a beating last week. It was a heart wrenching and terrifying week for us and many of our friends, loved ones and team. Amidst the madness of smoke and flames we were reminded of how truly special this region is. It is filled with generous, kind and passionate people who gave everything of themselves to help one another and show what really matters... each other. The heroic efforts of first responders who risked everything to protect life and property were nothing short of amazing. It is impossible to appropriately thank them and brave community members for their incredible efforts in the past week. We are so proud to know the good people of Wine Country who showed the world the depth of their character. Our deepest condolences to those families who lost loved ones, homes, schools and precious parts of their lives.
While specific areas of the region suffered, the smoke is lifting, doors and roads are opening and Wine Country is again welcoming its many visitors from around the globe. Despite what some might think from news coverage, MOST IS STILL IN TACT and open for business! To put some perspective on it, of the 500 wineries in Napa Valley, I have heard that under 20 that have succumbed to fire or sustained damage. Beautiful weddings and wonderful wine continue Wine Country and these gorgeous valleys need you now more than ever!
If you are so inclined, there are two wonderful local organizations that are spearheading the disaster relief for Wine Country. The Napa Valley Community Foundation Disaster Relief and Sonoma County Resilience Fund. We look forward to welcoming you in Wine Country. This region remains a world class destination and we look forward to seeing you!
This time last year we were up at Spring Ranch in Mendocino celebrating a very sweet couple at their spring wedding. Their florals were done by Lily and Mint. This sweet arrangement was perfect... I'm a sucker for lilac. Thanks The Edges Wed for the photo.
